My first piece of art was a pastel oil sketch—imperfect, joyful, and enough to spark a lifelong love. I wasn’t destined to be an artist, but I became something just as powerful: an advocate and enthusiast. Art has followed me through every chapter of life—framing my children’s drawings, using creativity to teach emotional regulation to young students, and now supporting artists as they grow while collecting pieces that bring me joy. I once took an oil painting class where, to my surprise, acclaimed artist Jonathan Thunder walked in to learn too. I nearly fled—but I stayed. I painted. I was okay. That moment reminded me that showing up to create is an act of courage and belief. I carry that with me. Art has the power to transform, connect, and heal—and I believe in that power not just for others, but for myself. Always.
