Residing on Park Point in Duluth, MN, Rauschenfels draws inspiration from his natural surroundings, a connection he developed from a young age while exploring his craft and love for water.
During his early childhood, Rauschenfels was confined to wearing a hip brace, which led him to explore art through pencils, pen & ink, watercolors, and oil paints. This period of introspection and creativity was enriched by the guidance of mentors who introduced him to various techniques, including plein air painting, the significance of art history, and the works of German Expressionists.
