It is with great excitement the the DAI can announce that we have met our goal! As of 10/ 18/ 2023 , the DAI has reach our $50,000 goal with donations on go fund me, mail, and through the DAI website. We have a solid start to build out a space and purchase the lighting and walls to create a magnificent gallery space for exhibitions scheduled from May 2024- December 2024. We are, however, continuing to work on securing a property.
We know the rent expense and overhead will continue to stretch our budget. We value your dedication to the arts and want you to know your continued financial support will help alleviate the increase in expenses such as rent, utilities, and property insurance that comes with an unexpected move. Your gifts truly help support artists, arts learners, and the important place in the arts ecosystem the DAI fills.
We will continue to keep you updated on our progress. Miigwech!
The vacate date remains May 1, 2024.

St. Louis County informed the DAI that it may no longer occupy the Depot space that has been home to our galleries for half a century. The County Selection Committee rejected the DAI Bid for Leased Space citing concerns about using the space for galleries, HVAC updates, and their desire to use it themselves for programming, in addition to the proposed rate for the lease. In a county board meeting August 1, the SLC Board approved an extension to May 1, 2024.
Maintaining our planned exhibition program through the remainder of 2023 and all of 2024 is our top priority. No upcoming exhibitions have been cancelled. To see the schedule of upcoming exhibitions, click here.
Our Lincoln Park Building is used to capacity, serving studio artists and art learners. It is not an option for gallery space.
