I am a ceramist from Minnesota, who became captivated by clay during high school pottery class with Steven Showalter. While formally earning degrees in the sciences, I continued to pursue my ceramics passion in studio classes at UMD with professor Liz James and CU Boulder with Professors Scott Chamberlin and Jeanie Quinn. I use both wheel throwing and hand building techniques to create both functional and nonfunctional forms. I draw inspiration from color, textiles, and a younger playful version of myself. I hope to create work that pieces together color, shape, and textures to create a sense of comfort and belonging.
