From photography to ceramics, fiber art to drawings, paintings, screenprints, and more, the DAI Annual Member Show (AMS) highlights the immense talent, skill, and creativity that thrives in our community. The exhibition showcases over 100 unique artworks by the incredible artist members of the Duluth Art Institute. Each AMS reception is a lively celebration of the year’s creative successes of the DAI, members, and supporters alike. Attending guests vote to select the People’s Choice Award, and members attend the DAI annual member meeting.

Annual Member Show 2026
Your work created in 2025 or 2026 is exactly what we’re looking for in the DAI Annual Member Show.
We are not asking for exclusively new work about current events. We want the work that feels true to you.
This year, there’s a new section in the submission form. We invite you to tell us why you made your piece and how it matters to you.
Our 2026 theme, “We Hold These Truths,” reminds us that your artwork carries your story. Your voice belongs in this exhibition — and we don’t want you to miss it.
About the Theme
Something new is coming to the Annual Member Show! For the first time, the AMS will center around a theme: “We Hold These Truths.”
This theme continues throughout the 2026 exhibition schedule, contributing to a broader conversation about American art. This year’s AMS is a chance for our member artists to weigh in on the conversation, expressing their truth through their art.
Truth can take many forms. It can emerge from cultural heritage, lived experience, artistic process, or community connection. When brought together, artwork creates a collective conversation, showing us the richness and diversity of perspectives within our community. Your voice contributes to a broader dialogue about who we are and what we hold to be true.
As you plan for the 2026 AMS, think about how the piece you submit tells your truth.
