Art Night Out: Fur Trade Nation and Ojibwe Adornment
March 26 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Free – $50.00
Step into history and creativity with a special Art Night Out at the Duluth Art Institute! Explore Fur Trade Nation, an exhibition that brings the stories, landscapes, and lives of the Ojibwe people and fur trade era to life through the art of Carl Gawboy.
Then, immerse yourself in the delicate beauty of Ojibwe Adornment by Wendy Savage. Inspired by traditional beadwork, quillwork, and storytelling practices, these handcrafted pieces celebrate cultural heritage while inviting you to connect history to today.
Arrive at 5:30 for a live performance and discussion of Gradient, an EP by musician Tufawon, a new collection of seven tracks inspired by the history and craft of these two DAI exhibitions. Part of the American Composers Forum’s Recomposing America project.
Join us for an evening of art, music, conversation, and creativity—where past and present meet. Enjoy traditional foods, gallery tours, and the chance to meet the artists.
