8 SESSIONS | Focus on the foundations of working with clay in mostly pottery wheel and some hand-building. Students will learn to work with clay in its many stages and become familiar with the firing processes of vitrification, glazing and loading kilns.

The Duluth Art Institute’s Lincoln Park Building (2229 W 2nd Street) houses a fully equipped ceramics studio accommodating beginning to advanced potters and ceramic artists. The studio provides throwing wheels, hand-building and wedging tables, a slab roller, spray booth, glaze room, and related hand tools. The studio also boasts four electric kilns and one large gas kiln.
